Dear SAPIENS Community,
We’re embarking on a new research initiative and invite you to be a part of it. Our upcoming survey on gender-responsive public procurement (GRPP) practices aims to investigate a key societal issue of gender inequality and socially responsible public procurement, and your participation will be vital.
The objective of this survey is twofold: first, to comprehensively understand the current state of GRPP practices, and second, to pinpoint the barriers and motivations influencing public buyers across various countries to support women-owned businesses. Hence, your insights would be instrumental in shaping the discourse around gender equality in procurement.
Your responses will be anonymised, ensuring confidentiality and data aggregation. Your valuable input will not only inform our research but will also contribute to a research-based journal article — a first-of-a kind effort spanning multiple countries. Traditionally, GRPP data has been limited to specific regions, but this survey aims to bridge that gap, providing a global perspective on this crucial issue.
We estimate that the survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete—a small investment with the potential for significant impact. Once the study is complete and the journal article is published, we will share the findings on the Sapiens Network website for all to access.
Once again, the essential details are outlaid below:
- Survey Objective: Understanding Gender-Responsive Public Procurement (GRPP) practices globally.
- Planned Outcome: Data will be anonymised, analysed, and used to draft a research-based journal article for open-access publication in an impactful journal.
- Survey Duration: Estimated time to complete: 10-15 minutes.
- Relevance: First-of-its-kind survey covering multiple countries, providing a global perspective on GRPP practices.
- Publication: Final published study will be shared on the SAPIENS website for public viewing.
- Call to Action: Please fill out the survey if you are a public procurement professional.
We urge you to spread the word far and wide. Share the survey with your networks, colleagues, and contacts in public procurement institutions (including NGOs, IGOs, municipalities and central purchasing bodies) to amplify its reach.
