Shaping the Future of Procurement: Join Us at the 9th Global Procurement Conference

In an ever-evolving global landscape, the choices we make in public procurement hold significant weight, extending far beyond immediate transactions. On June 20th 2024, the SAPIENS Network Conference, organized by the University of Birmingham, will kickstart the debate about the most current and future issues tackling Public Procurement as a tool for building sustainability.

To continue exploring the planetary implications of public procurement, on July 4th and 5th, 2024 the University of Rome Tor Vergata, will host the 9th Global Procurement Conference (GPC), at the historic Villa Mondragone in Rome, Italy.

About GPC 2024

Organized by SAPIENS Lead Researcher, Prof. Gustavo Piga, the Global Procurement Conference has reached its 9th edition. More than a conference, GPC represents a gathering of minds from across the globe, nestled in the historic surroundings of the Castelli Romani.

Experts from International Financial Institutions, regulatory bodies, policy-makers, economists, engineers, lawyers, and procurers will converge to engage in substantive debates on critical issues that cross-fields, such as: innovation, competitiveness, sustainability, and regulation in public procurement worldwide.

With the primary goal of raising awareness of the planetary implications of public procurement choices, this year themes prompt us to rethink how we buy for the future, at the frontier of innovation, and with a profound sense of responsibility.

Conference structure

The 9th GPC 2024 will feature three sessions, each comprising two thematic discussions led by distinguished speakers:

July 4th: Buying for the Future

  • Procuring for Space (9:30 am)
  • Procuring for Earth (11:30 am)

July 4th: Buying at the Frontier

  • AI Procuring (2:30 pm)
  • Procuring Innovation (4:15 pm)

July 5th: Buying Responsibly

  • Compliance in Procurement (9:00 am)
  • Accountability in Procurement (11:00 am)
